About MS VISTA Operating System

In January 2007 Microsoft released its latest operating system, Windows Vista. Windows Vista offers an improved user interface, bolstered security, and other new and potentially useful features. However, majority of the computers in the labs and classrooms as well as on faculty and staff desktops does not meet the required hardware recommendations.  In addition, many existing programs, including several of the College's core applications, will not run correctly on Windows Vista until the publishers release updated versions.

Therefore, the department of IT recommends that students, faculty, and staff who are using Windows XP continue to do so. Official CCRI support of Windows Vista will be announced when the issues with hardware requirements and application compatibility are resolved.  For further information about MS Vista please refer to the Microsoft Windows Vista website.
