Be sure that java is installed, and that there is only one version of java enabled.

The preferred type of java is Sun JRE (version1.3.1_02 or higher). If you do not have Java installed, go to http://www.java.com to install the latest version. After installing, restart your machine. Be sure that only one type of java is enabled-if more than one type has boxes checked, uncheck all boxes in the type(s) that you do not want to use. To test Java functionality, go to http://www.java.sun.com/applets/other, and click on the Bouncing Heads link. If this item displays activity and sound, Java is functioning properly.

Clear Cookies and Cache in Internet Explorer :

This can prove useful for audio/display issues and course launch issues, but should be done only if the popup and Java steps in this document do not resolve the issue .

Test Flash and Shockwave functionality

Go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
Hover cursor over CREATE, SEE, ABOUT buttons for both Shockwave and Flash.
If the buttons expand, both of these tools are functional; if not, install the one(s) that are not functioning properly. You should be prompted to automatically install the missing component. If you are not, follow instructions below.

This is more than likely due to a pop-up blocker.  To disable the pop-up blocker:
