Download Your Student Database
Although your student database is saved when you perform a course backup, faculty members often would like to keep a separate copy of just their student records for quick reference. This is easy to do - just follow these steps:
- Go to Manage Course
- Click on Manage Students and you will see your whole class
- On the far right side at the top you will see a grey Download button
- Choose either comma or tab as the record separator (this will tell a program like Excel how to divide the data into columns)
- Click on the Download button
- Choose the Save option to save your file down to your computer. A window will come up telling you where the file will be saved (you can change the location if you wish, like to My Documents, so you can find the file again) Remember to write down the name of the file and the location.
- Click on the Save button and you will see the file being copied down to your computer
- Click on Close
To see this file on your computer:
- Open Excel
- Go to File - Open
- Change Files of type at the bottom of the window from All Microsoft Excel files to Text files by clicking on the down-pointing arrow and selecting from the list
