Hiding Quizzes or Exams on the Course Homepage

If you do not want your students to access the Quizzing/Exam tool from the homepage, you can hide it until right before the exam or quiz.

To hide the Quiz/Exam icon:

1. Click next to the Quiz/Exam icon on the homepage

2. Click on the Hide option from the menu on the right

You should now see the word “Hidden” under the icon, which means that it is visible to you but not to students.

To reveal the icon:

1. Click next to the Quiz/Exam icon on the homepage

2. Click on the Reveal option from the menu on the right.

Select quizzes or exams to display from the Quiz/Exam icon

When students click on the Quiz/Exam icon they will often see a whole list of quizzes or exams for the semester. Even though most of these would not be available to them it is still disconcerting to scroll down the list to find the right exam or quiz. You can prevent this by selecting just the exam or quiz that is available to display. To do this:

1. Click next to the Quiz/Exam icon on the homepage

2. Click on the Edit option from the menu on the right. You will see a Quiz listing option to select the quizzes/exams to display in the center of the screen.

3. Click on the Select button to reveal a list of all the quizzes and exams in the course. Click next to the ones you wish to display.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click on the grey Continue button

5. Leave the Selective Release choices blank. Click on the grey Update button at the bottom of the window to save your changes.
