Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Express to retrieve Pipeline e-mail
You can set up your Outlook Express 2000 to retrieve e-mail from Pipeline by following the steps below.
Starting Outlook
- Select the Start menu.
- Point to Programs.
- Select Microsoft Outlook Express.
Configuring Outlook
- Go to the Tools menu and select Accounts...

- Click on the folder tab Mail

- Click on Add and then select Mail

- Type in your name (first name and last name) and click on the
Next button

- Select I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use
and type in your Pipeline e-mail address
(username@ccri.edu)
where
username is the username you were assigned in Pipeline. Click
on the
Next button.

- Select POP3 for the incoming mail server and type in the following addresses:
- Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:
mail.ccri.edu - Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
mail.ccri.edu - Click on the Next button

- Next to Account name: type in your Pipeline username
and next to Password: type in your password. Click on the Next button.

- You should see a page confirming that you have successfully
entered all the information for your account. Remember to click on
the Finish
button to save your settings.

- You are almost done! With the mail.ccri.edu Account
highlighted, click on the grey Properties button.

- Under Outgoing Mail Server click on My server
requires authentication. If you are on a private computer that
only you will be using you can click next to Remember password.
If you share a computer it is best to leave this option blank.

- Click on the Settings... button and make sure that
Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
Click on
OK.

- Click on the Apply button and then OK to save the settings.
Your Outlook 2000 and Express is now set up to retrieve your Pipeline mail.
