Welcome to my web site here at the Community College of Rhode Island. Through these web pages I hope to provide an overview of IT at CCRI, with future links to information about strategic planning, organizations, committees, policies, resources and services. Information Technology at CCRI aligns its plans, goals objectives and resources with the College's strategic plans.

Information Technology at CCRI is a complex, multi-faceted operation delivering services and support to the four campuses located in Warwick (Knight Campus), Lincoln (Flanagan Campus), Providence (Liston Campus) and Newport (Newport County Campus).  Each site is equipped with technology-enhanced classrooms, computing labs, library, and public computers in support of the educational process.  The advanced network infrastructure between campuses enables communications, video conferencing, audio and video streaming and distance learning activities to occur.

Administrative functions, such as one-stop admissions, testing, registration and payment, are all maintained at each of the four sites.  CCRI also has an information-distribution portal which provides important, everyday items to students, faculty and staff such as email, alerts, latest news and grades to name a few.  The highly-developed, Internet-facing web site, www.ccri.edu, also brings a mass of data concerning every facet of engaging in the CCRI experience.

The Community College of Rhode Island is a flourishing member of the Ocean State Higher Education Economic Development and Administrative Network, Inc (OSHEAN ), the NorthEast Regional Computing Program (NerComp), the Association of College & University Telecommunications Administrators (ACUTA) and of course, Educause.  Having affiliations with all these consortiums enables CCRI to cull the best practices utilized by a multitude of colleges and universities in order to offer the students, faculty and staff the best in technology available.

I hope this web site will provide insight into the strategic direction, standards, guidelines and practices exercised by the Information Technology division.  Listed below are several elements of the IT governance framework and structure.  Some key links follow:

Please take the time to explore what is offered here and give us your feedback on areas where we can be of greater service to the campus.

Sincerely,
