Server Support

The Systems and Operations group installs and maintains, all centralized servers, system software and peripheral equipment.  These currently include 2 Compaq Alpha computers running VMS and 23 Dell Servers running Windows NT 4 or 2000.  The group also supports centralized system services such as DNS for domain name lookup and SMTP for email.  

Responsibilities within the group include managing upgrades and fixes for server operating systems and system services; coordinating repairs for server hardware and peripherals; installing and configuring application software on the servers; managing data and disaster recovery backups; and running production jobs and processing output for the management information systems.  Please contact the Help Desk (ext 1112, helpdesk@ccri.edu) to report system or application problems or to request server application installs or upgrades.  If you have general questions about systems or operations you may contact Karl Kreuter, Manager of Technical Support (ext 2420 or kreuter@ccri.edu )
