Scanning Photos/Graphics

The following instructions should be used to scan pictures and graphics using PhotoShop CS.

Be certain that the scanner is turned on before starting.

Instructions and Screenshots
Step 1

On the Windows desktop, look for the PhotoShop CS shortcut icon and click on it in order to open PhotoShop.

With PhotoShop open, click on File, then Import, then Epson Twain Pro. This will open the Epson Twain Pro window with available settings.

Use these settings for graphics/pictures:

Document Source - Flatbed
Image Type - 24-bit color (Std)
for most color graphics or 8-bit gray for black & white, or line art drawings.
Screen Resolution - 96

Once you have completed your settings, click on the Preview button.

You should see a Pre-scanning in Progress box as the image is scanned. Once the scanner is finished, a new window will appear with your scanned image showing in the preview window.

Once you have decided on your finished image, click Scan.

When scanning is complete, another window will appear behind the settings window. This window contains your scanned image with the word Untitled showing in the title bar. Close the Epson Twain Pro window.

Click on File, Save As. The Save As dialogue box appears.

Choose the location you want to save your file to. Give the file a name. Choose a file format (.jpg or .gif if it is to be used on the web).

Click on Save.

You may now close the file by clicking on File, then Close.

You are now ready to scan your next graphic!
