Moving Your Course to a New Server
Note: The instructions below begin at your existing course home page, in the Designer Options view (login to http://webct.ccri.edu). Bolded words indicate places to click. Also, the red arrow will tell you where to click.

Step 1In the Control Panel go to Manage Course > Backup Course |

Step 2From the drop down menu below Backup Course select Create backup > Go |

Step 3Enter a short description of your course (i.e. Semester/year) in the text box, click Create > Continue |

To Download the File to your PC

Step 1Choose the Radio Button next to the Backup file you wish to download |

Step 2From the drop down menu below Backup File Functions, choose Download > Go |

Step 3Choose Save As, choose the PC directory or disk to receive the file and name it. Note: Write down the location and filename of the backup file. |
Transferring Your Course to A New Server
To transfer a course to a new server requires 3 steps:
- Open your browser to the new server account (http://webct.ccri.edu)
- Log in to MyWebCT and click on your course link
- Upload the course backup file
- Restore the course
To Upload the File to your course account
Once downloaded to disk, a backup course file can then be transferred or uploaded to the server, and then restored. Note: when you do a restore you automatically overwrite everything in that course space.
Note: The time required to upload a course backup depends on the file size as well as on the speed of the Internet connection of both the server and your computer.

Step 3Click Browse on the Upload Backup File screen. |

Step 4Select the backup file you want to upload (refer to your notes on where you stored the file and what you named it) and click on the Open button. The Upload Backup File screen reappears with the filename in the box. Click Upload. |

To Restore the Course
Once you’ve uploaded the file into your course account, you need to restore the file to load the contents into the directory. At the Course Backup Utility Screen...
