Back Up Student Discussion Postings
Note: The instructions below begin at your existing course home page, on the Designer Options tab (log in to http://webct.ccri.edu). Bolded words indicate places to click

Step 1Open the Discussion Board |

Step 2Click on a Topic to open the Discussion board. |

Step 3Select all the postings on all topics so that they all appear in one file. To do this: next to Select topic: click on the down-pointing arrow and choose All. Then Go. |

Step 4To select all postings, click in the box next to Subject and you should see checkmarks appear next to every message. |

Step 5Once all the postings have been selected, scroll to the very bottom of the Discussion board and click on the Compile button. |

Step 6You will see all the postings displaying in one window. Click on the Download button. |

Step 7You will be prompted to open or save the file. Choose the Save button. |

Step 8Type in a meaningful name next to File name: and choose the location you wish the save the file to. Click Save. In the example to the right the file is named with the course code and the semester/year. It is being saved to the desktop. |

Step 9Once the file has been downloaded a dialogue box will come up notifying you that the download is complete. Click on the Close button. |

To see this file, you may open up Word or any word processing program and choose File - Open. Remember to change the Files of Type: option to All files.
