For Designers - self-registration
To allow students to self register:
- Log in to your WebCT course
- Click on Control Panel
- Click on Manage Course
- Scroll down under Manage Students and select Change Settings
- Click Allow self-registration and choose Update.

Details: Students will use their Pipeline username and password to log in to WebCT (instructions are at: http://it.ccri.edu//WebCT_Students/handout.shtml ). Once logged in students must then choose Add Course. Your students will see a pencil-shaped icon next to courses in the course listing signaling that they are open for self registration. Students can click on this icon to connect to your course. Their names will then automatically appear in your student database.
Note: Anyone can register for your course once you have
enabled Self-Registration. It is therefore recommended that you close this option
after a period of time (after drop/add, for example) to prevent unregistered people
from getting into your course. If you find that someone appears in your
student database that is not on your official roster, you can click on the
student's name and choose Deny Access until you can determine if they
actually belong in your class.
