Using Win Zip - Information Technology

WinZip is a utility that allows users to unzip (decompress) or zip (compress) a file.

Step 1 To decompress a file, open the 'WinZip' application from your Start - All Programs menu.	Winzip32.exe To download WinZip: http://www.winzip.com/tucows To examine a built-in tutorial, click on the 'Wizard' in the menu bar. Here is an example of a file that has been zipped:
Step 2 Go to the Menu bar and click on the 'Open' button. Choose a zipped file, for example the 'Example.zip'.
Step 3 Select the file you wish to open - in this sample it is the Example.zip file. Click on the Open button.
Step 4 You may select multiple files by holding the CTRL button down and clicking on each item to be 'UnZipped'. When they've all been selected click on the 'Extract' button.
Step 5 Select the location you wish to unzip the files to using the 'Extract to:' command.	You will be asked for the 'Destination Folder' or location to place the file(s). Make note of this location so that you can locate the file to open. Done!

Step 2 Click on 'New' toolbar button.
Step 3 A New Archive Window opens: Select the destination folder in the Create in: box. Type in a File name (Name you want for the Zipped File) Click on O
Step 4 Select each file to be added to the archive and click 'Add' after each one.
Step 5 When finished adding files, go to File - Close Archive. Your file(s) are now zipped.
