Configuring Outlook 2002 (XP) and 2003 to retrieve Pipeline e-mail
Microsoft Outlook is a comprehensive desktop information management program. You can use Outlook as a central inbox for all of your internal and external e-mail messaging systems. You can also use it to manage your contacts, to organize your calendar and scheduling, and to maintain a journal of your activities. Additionally, Outlook integrates a number of system management features that help you manage your files, folders, and system resources.
You can set up your Outlook account to retrieve your Pipeline e-mail by following these steps:
Open Outlook
Select the Start menu.
Point to Programs.
Select Microsoft Outlook.
Go to the Tools menu and select E-mail Accounts...



Under User Information type the following information:
Your Name: Type in your first name and your last name
E-mail Address: Type in your Pipeline e-mail address which is: username@ccri.edu where username is your username (often first initial last name)
Under Logon Information type the following information:
User Name: Type in your Pipeline username
Next to Password: Type in your Pipeline password
If you are working on your home machine you may click next to Remember Password. If you are sharing the computer it is best not to check it.
*Please note: if your are configuring Outlook on your home pc, you will need to check with your internet service provider for their outgoing mail server and you will not need to set the outgoing server to authenticate.*
Click on the More Settings... button

Click on the Outgoing Server tab and select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Click on OK

Click on the Finish button. You should get a Congratulations! screen verifying that your Pipeline account is now set up to send and receive mail.
You may be prompted to log in to your Pipeline account at this time. Type in your information as shown below and your messages should display in your Outlook Inbox.
