Copying an Excel Grade Book into WebCT
If you use WebCT for your courses you may want to take advantage of the capability to upload your Excel grade book into your Manage Students database. Even if you are not using electronic quizzing or surveys, you can still make all your students' grades available to them by utilizing your Excel grade book.
A couple of the advantages of maintaining your grade book in Excel are that you can freeze columns so that you can keep the students' names next to the column you are grading (which is so helpful when you get towards the middle of the semester and your columns in WebCT are so long that the names of your students scroll off the screen). The other advantage is that the formula function in Excel is easier to use than that contained within WebC
Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to add your weekly grades to your Excel grade book and upload it into WebCT in a few minutes. Your students will love it because they will have access to all their grades anytime from anywhere. (No more excuses!)
