Opening your website in FrontPage

Step 1 - Open FrontPage 2003

1A. Click on the "Start" button in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen:

1B. Click on the "All Programs" button:

1C. Find "Microsoft Office", click once to expand, then select "Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003":

Step 2 - Opening Screen

FrontPage's opening screen should look something like this:

Step 3 - Open a site

Select: "File/Open Site..."

Step 4 - Designate which site you want to open

The "Open Site" dialog box will appear. click on the "My Network Places" button, then in the "Site Name" window, type: "http://test.ccri.edu/yoursitename/" with "yoursitename" being your own site's name. Then select, "Open".

*Please note for opening a Faculty web: In the "site Name" window, type: "http://faculty.ccri.edu/username/"., with "username" being your username.

Step 5 - Login to the server

Login to the test (or faculty web) server by typing, in the "User name:" field, "campus\(your user name)" *
and in the "Password:" field: "(your password)"Your password will be either the campus network password you use signing onto your computer from on campus.

Select "OK"

*Please note: you must use the backslash character ( \ ) after the word, "campus". The backslash is located above the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

Step 6 - Site opens

After a few moments, your web site should appear in the main FrontPage window.

*Please note:  After you login, the "Open Site" dialog box may continue to show on your screen displaying the folders within your site.  If this happens, once again select "Open" so that your site will appear.
