Form Field Validation
Form validation is an important and helpful tool that you can use in any FrontPage form. You can apply these data entry rules to drop-down boxes, text boxes, text areas, and option buttons. Validation will help insure that the user enters valid and complete data to a validated field. Remember to only assign validation to the fields that require it. Be sure to carefully choose the validation that best fits each field. For example: if you are asking for a telephone number, you should set the constraints to only allow numbers, whitespace, "-", "(", and ")".
٭ Note: It is strongly suggested that you use validation in at least one of the form fields. This helps prevent spammers from automatically filling out your form and generating un-needed results. Be sure to use validation in the most important fields (i.e. name, phone number, or CCRI ID) but not all. Sometimes when too much information is required users are deterred from filling out the form.
