How to Avoid Copying Common Images to Your Site
If you insert a picture onto your page from http://www.ccri.edu/images/index.shtml or http://www.ccri.edu/images/index2.shtml that picture is called a "common image". It is unnecessary to save these common images in your site because they are saved on the main CCRI website and your page will reference them from their current location. If you insert a picture from your hard drive or flash drive it is necessary for you to save the image to your site to ensure that it displays.
In both cases the images that you have inserted on your page are called "embedded files." When you save a new page that includes embedded files for the first time, you will be asked if you want to save the files. Be sure to save those images that have been inserted from your hard drive, flash drive, or any place other than the sites mentioned above. To avoid the unnecessary copying of common images to your site, follow the procedure below.
