Add Pages to an Existing Web

Now that you've got your home page up and running you may be interested in adding some additional pages for your students.

Keep in mind that most good web pages do not exceed two scrolls down so if you want to add a document, like a syllabus or handout for a class for instance, it would be better to link it to your home page rather than inserting it on your home page.

The first step is to plan what pages you want to add and how you want to link them. One way to handle this is to put the name of each category on an index card (for instance each course you teach would be a category) and then fill out an index card for every document you want to add (syllabus for that course, handouts, assignments etc.) Then arrange all your documents under each category. This becomes your web structure.

You could do the same thing by drawing  a flow chart on a piece of paper with each main category along the top and all the documents drawn in under each category.
