Migrating to Microsoft Vista Operating System
Vista Migration Project
Migration of all electronic classrooms and academic computing labs to MS Vista operating system has been completed. Faculty who teach with technology in these classrooms are encouraged to visit their scheduled classrooms prior to the beginning of the semester to get acclimated to the new interface.
Vista Installations for Faculty and Staff
Faculty who would like to have their office computers upgraded to the new operating system should contact the Help Desk at 825-1112 or via e-mail at helpdesk@ccri.edu. IT staff will review their office computers to verify that they meet Microsoft recommended hardware requirements as well as compatibility with specialized software they may be using.
Staff computer upgrades to Vista will begin in early 2009 following the Banner upgrade. During the technology renewal process, all computers will eventually be replaced with models capable of running Vista. IT staff have created a process to transfer the files and settings from your current XP computer to your new Vista machine. The installation of your new machine will be scheduled so as to have as little disruption as possible.
